Banana, Coconut, Oreo.
These are labels used to describe people like me that don't necessarily fit into a defined racial box. "You act so white," and "You're really just (insert ethnicity here) on the outside," are things kids hear growing up.
We are often reduced to generalized labels and left feeling like we don't belong anywhere.
Labels come from our natural human tendency to try to categorize things. But people can't be categorized easily.
We're taking the stance of embracing who we are: lost and happy, unable and unwilling to conform to the stereotypes associated with our ethnic backgrounds.
Lost Label Brigade is a brand that drives this self-acceptance and celebrates our place in society's cultural limbo.
